March General Membership Meeting - HelIstrip gardening by Jan Bills

Join us in Welcoming Jan Bills, owner of "Two Women and a Hoe", and author of Late Bloomer - How to Garden with Comfort, Ease, and Simplicity in the Second Half of Life with her presentation of HelIstrip gardening.

HelIstrips are the section of grass or dirt between the sidewalk and street or islands. They are often well salted, polluted, or highly trampled which can make planting there a challenge.

"Gardening in helIstrips can be challenging but you don’t have to be an expert to be successful. HelIstrips are wonderful opportunities to attract pollinators and defy most design principals. Like any garden, right plant, right place is the key to success!  Together we will explore how to garden in a helIstrip with comfort, ease and simplicity. "

VMS Project Category: Community: Quality of Life

This month one lucky person will win a "surprise" gardening basket.  Members must be present at the time of drawing to win.
